In the 1930s I attended this samll church with my grandfather and grandmother, Maggie and Charles S .Winters. My name is LaDonna Lurlene Winters, my married name is Tatum. I remember all the church dinners and socials and a group of happy people all shouting and enjoying themselves. I didn't much understand why we were all singing and shouting but it was the only time I could talk in church. There was not just one preacher but several. When one got tired another one would take his place, I remember at least three at a time. It made a long Sunday service but the after church social with food made it all worth while. Today I still love relegion and my bible, the one thing I miss is all the shouting. The one thing I don't miss are those very hard benches. Lurlene Winters-Tatum
